TOWNSHIP OF DARBY
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA | EST 1683
This is Aqua Pennsylvania with an emergency message sent on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021.
First, Aqua had to shut down our Pickering East and West water treatment plants due to heavy rainfall, flooding and loss of power caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
Please suspend all nonessential water use until we notify you that we’ve restored adequate water supply. Please remember to turn off automatic sprinklers if you have them.
Aqua is making adjustments in other parts of our southeastern Pennsylvania water system to increase supply to our Pickering service area, but it will take time to offset the volume of water we normally produce at this plant. There is the potential for some customers to experience discolored water as we redirect water throughout our distribution system to sustain capacity.
Second, please be aware that our toll-free customer service number is currently out of service due to flood-related issues experienced by our phone vendor. Visit the Pennsylvania state page of AquaAmerica.com for updates or follow Aqua on Facebook at facebook.com/MyAquaAmerica and on Twitter at @MyAquaAmerica.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure adequate water supply for you and your community.
Due to the Remnants of Hurricane Ida, the Township of Darby Board of Commissioners Workshop Meeting has been rescheduled and will now take place on Wednesday, September 8th at 7PM. The Regular Meeting will now be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 7PM.

The Township of Darby Board of Commissioners and Staff send our thoughts and Prayers to the families of those affected by the senseless tragedy that took place at Academy Park High School on Friday, August 27th. We are holding You All in the Light during this difficult time...
It has come to the Board of Commissioner's attention that several activities have been scheduled and taken place within the Township at various Township parks and venues over the past few weeks. The information for the various events seems to indicate that they are Darby Township endorsed or sponsored, that is not the case. The Township has had no involvement in the planning or staging of the events/programs and is not responsible for any issues or problems associated with the events/programs or the participants. They are not being run by the Township of Darby or the Parks and Recreation Committee of the Township of Darby. In the event there are questions or concerns about these events please direct them to the party or parties organizing or running the events/programs. Other than the use of Township parks Darby Township has had no involvement with these events.
Thank you! Commissioner T. Taliaferro
