Permits are required by the Township for a number of activities
which include, but are not limited to the following:
new construction, heating and central air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, additions, alterations, sheds, swimming pools, concrete work, driveways, patios, decks, sewer work, sewer tie-ins, signs (including temporary signs), and banners.

All plans must be reviewed for compliance with the
township building and zoning ordinance #670.
The cost of a permit is nominal and could avoid significant cost later on,
which may be incurred, if ordinances are ignored.
Fees will be doubled if work begins before the permit is issued.
All contractors must be licensed by the Township.
All yard sales require a permit, but there is no cost.
RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO HIRE AN EXPERIENCED CONTRACTOR WITH KNOWLEDGE OF COMMON DRIVEWAYS.
Flexible pavement overlay will first need to be milled and keyed to match existing upstream and downstream grades at the property line to allow for positive drainage. Base repair may be necessary for proper installation of the pavement.
For concrete replacement, grades of the existing upstream and downstream must match existing driveways at the property line to allow for positive drainage.
PLEASE NOTE: THE BEST COMMON DRIVEWAY REPLACEMENT IS REINFORCED CONCRETE.

Parking Permit (Form not online)*
As per Ordinance #520, parking of a non-commercial vehicle
on the street in Darby Township between the hours of
3:00AM and 6:00AM (unless an exemption has been made)
requires an overnight parking permit.
As per Ordinance #689, an overnight parking permit costs $20.00.
To apply/renew, must present all current owner's
cards to the Municipal Building.
*All parking permits expire December 31 of each year.

Every business operating in any manner within the Township of Darby is required to obtain a Business Privilege License each and every year and to post that license in a visible location within your establishment.
